Snoop Blog on Writing: Words to Savor, Rhyming Flavor.

Write to Someone--Anyone

“Writers write,” is what people say.

And that’s okay.

Until writer’s block blocks your way.

That’s when it becomes challenging to write.

You try with all of your might.

But your brain feels as tight as a clenched fist.

Never mind or poem or story—you can’t even make a list!

But how about trying this?

Pick someone—anyone—to tell your story to.

It could be a friend or someone you barely know or someone you wish you knew.

Imagine greeting that person. Then you say, “Hey! Guess what?”

They reply, “What?”

And then you chat away.

Jot down your words as they come to you. You can clean them up whenever you’re through.

Practice again and again, and your block will go away.

Look forward to writing your “listener” and prepare what you’ll say.

Your writing will become more creative, and surely, it’ll make sense.

Because you gave yourself a built-in audience.
